Since Spray Lake Sawmills constructed its permanent mill facility in Cochrane in 1974, the town of Cochrane has literally grown up around us. SLS employs, directly and indirectly, over 300 individuals from Cochrane and the surrounding area. Given our unique location within the town, we place a very high priority on safety and environmental sensitivity so as to remain a valued part of the community.
Our commitment to the community affects our planning for truck traffic to and from the mill as well as a long list of safety and environmental safeguards within the mill.

Over time, we have managed to reduce our impact on surrounding neighbors and are constantly looking for ways to improve our presence within the community.
